Williams Lake: Arts Wells film launched in lakecity
The first public showing of the new documentary Arts Wells – The Festival of All Things Art was held in the Gibraltar Room Friday evening. There were two opening acts performing before the film and a bit of an introduction with director Dan Williams and interviewer Carmen Mutschele.
The event was sponsored by the Williams Lake Film Club. During the last season event organizer Krista Liebe says the club was able to donate $3,000. for the Williams Lake Learning Disabilities Association which will help the organization to continue programs next year. She says that given funding cuts to arts festivals, the club has also covered the costs of premiering the Arts Wells film.
The filming was done in 2008. Williams says 40 hours of raw footage was edited down to the 90 minute film. He thanked everyone for coming to see the film and encouraged people to continue to support the arts.
