Victoria: Fundraiser showcases city’s vibrant dance community
If you are curious about the rich diversity of dance being choreographed and performed in this city, Metro Studio is the place to be tomorrow or Saturday night when the second annual Light on Our Feet dance cabaret hits the stage.
The event will showcase the talent and variety of Victoria’s dance community — 33 groups and individuals — and also raise funds to expand seating and upgrade projection equipment in the studio.
“We were blown away by the success of the first fundraiser,” said producer Holly Vivian, who noted last year the inaugural, and sold-out, event raised $5,000 for new lights. “It was great to be able to showcase the range of amazing dance talent in Victoria, and the dance community has really rallied behind the show.
