Sooke: Showcasing the best art on the Island

Transformation, metamorphosis, change, conversion. These are all words which describe what is happening at SEAPARC Leisure Complex as hundreds of volunteers put in countless hours to make the 2010 Sooke Fine Arts Show a reality.

Artists from across Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands submitted 1,300 pieces for consideration by a three-person jury. The work is scattered around the arena waiting as the hanging team finds the appropriate spot for the 386 pieces in the show.

“The jurors were very impressed,” said show organizer Evonne Black.Diane Farris said it was the hardest job she’s had jurying a show.”
