Mission: Children’s festival goes medieval

With giant dragons, goofing jesters and sword fighting the annual Mission Children’s Festival’s 2010 theme will get medieval.

The event goes Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Fraser River Heritage Park.

Academie Duello will offer demonstrations and workshops on medieval swordplay. Veteran children’s entertainer Ish Da Fish will be the town crier. King Cameron Butt, who once taught swimming lessons in Mission, will be a storyteller who gets his audiences singing along with him. Jester and fire eater Mike Battie takes entertaining to another level – he’s up on stilts most of the time.
