Langley: 1,000 needed for Canada Day flash mob

Two left feet? Lack of rhythm? A little uncoordinated?

Maria Martini doesn’t care.

She just wants you to get out and move this Canada Day.

As the organizer of Langley’s first flash mob, Martini is hoping people will get excited about the latest craze, where seemingly random crowds suddenly break into a choreographed dance routine in a public place, while stunned onlookers try to figure out what’s happening, and then usually just stand back and enjoy the show.

Inspired by the national pride that overtook Canadians during the Olympic Games, Martini told an acquaintance she wanted to find a way to “keep the pride alive.”
