Kelowna: More screenings than ever at Okanagan Film Festival
The Okanagan Film Festival found itself in an unusual position in this its 13th year. When the calls for submissions went out, the festival organizers were inundated with responses and a record number of submissions.
“We are definitely on the international scene,” said Jason Woodford, the festival president.
Of the 200 to 300 submissions received, more than 130 will actually see screen time.
“They’re good quality films,” said local documentary aficionado Leo Bartels, of Leo’s Videos, noting he was impressed by some of the cinematography in this batch.
