Folk festival head honcho’s top five favourites an eclectic list
Since coming on-board as the Vancouver Folk Music Festival’s artistic director, Linda Tanaka has impressed festival goers with her exciting and varied lineups. This year’s wildly varied and eclectic showcase is no different, boasting emerging young acts such as the Malahat Revue featuring Jeremy Fisher, Said the Whale, Hannah Georgas and Aiden Knight alongside fest veterans such as Connie Kaldor. We asked Tanaka to pick five artists appearing this year that she’s particularly excited about. Here’s what she says:
“My Top 5 picks? That is a difficult task as I booked all the artists and love their music. The five I’ve picked are just a snapshot of what’s in store, maybe giving folks a sense of the variety of music they’ll see and hear when they come to Jericho Beach Park.
