Courtenay: Passes on sale now for music business conference
Want to learn more about the music industry? Delegate passes are now on sale for the third annual Vancouver Island Music Business Conference (VIMBC) to be held June 24-27th.
The four-day conference offers a comprehensive look at the industry from the perspective of 35 professional panelists. Some of this year’s panelists include songwriters Dan Hill, Bill Henderson, Patricia Conroy, Ron Irving, and Sue Medley, producers Brian Howes (Hedley, Hinder, Puddle of Mudd, Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift) and Kevin Churko (Shania Twain, Ozzy Osbourne, Ringo Starr, Britney Spears, The Corrs) as well the CEO and President of FACTOR, Heather Osterag.
Many of the conference events will take place at the Sid Williams Theatre, which is providing sponsorship assistance to VIMBC.
General Manager Deborah Renz offered her endorsement to the event saying, “This event has tremendous potential, and will be very beneficial to our local and regional economy at a time when stimulus is very much needed, and as an affordable regional conference it will be beneficial to the professional development of emerging artists in Western Canada.”
