Courtenay: CVAG appeals for funding

The Comox Valley Art Gallery, in the midst of difficult financial times, has appealed to the Comox Valley Regional District for financial assistance.

Despite gift shop revenue and fundraising efforts, the gallery is looking at a $50,000 shortfall this year, says CVAG president Roger Albert, who, along with curator Anh Le, spoke Tuesday at the regional district’s committee of the whole meeting.

“We’re pretty much cut to the bone,” Albert said, noting an “accumulating deficit” in the last couple of years.

“It’s difficult times. We need some financial stability.”
