Coquitlam: B.C.’s sculptors display at PdA
Some of B.C.’s top sculpture artists are displaying their three-dimensional masterpieces in Place des Arts’ atrium gallery while, in the Leonore Peyton Salon painter Donna Leavens gets viewers in the patriotic spirit with her O Canada series.
Works by about a dozen members of the Sculptors’ Society of BC showcase a variety of styles and techniques, from realism to impressionism, and experimentation with different materials.
Hyper-realistic figures combine with whimsical, nature-inspired objects and works reminiscent of the classical and romantic sculptors. Media varies from wood, glass, stone and wire to clay and bronze, inviting viewers to discover the diversity of expression and form this medium affords.
