Comox Valley: New venue for writers coming

Writers and poets in the Comox Valley are invited to take part in a new program sponsored by the Community Arts Council in association with the Comox Valley Writers’ Society.

The program will consist of a series of evening events designed to give exposure to local writers and their work.

Planned for the last Monday of every month, the events will feature one or two writers reading and discussing their work at each session.

The first event is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 22, starting at 7 p.m. in the Muir Gallery on Anderton Avenue in Courtenay.

The featured writer will be Desmond Lindo, who will read three short stories thematically linked to the three islands he has called home over the years: Vancouver Island, Hawaii, and Jamaica.
