Castlegar: Exhibit shows artistic process
Curator Helen Sebelius wanted to know how artists got to their finished product, so she made an exhibit about it.
“That is the big question: what is the creative process?” she said.
Modus Operandi: ideas and process is on now at the Kootenay Gallery. The exhibition features work by artists Marilyn Lee, Wendy Allen, Sarah Lawless, Maria Medina and Peter Galonski at different stages in their art, with finished products to show what they were working towards.
Sebelius thought it was a wonderful opportunity to share the process with the public, but it was a difficult decision to decide what to include and exclude.
