CARFAC BC Presents: Visual Artists, Scams and Ripoffs
With Martha Rans and Melissa Gruber
Thursday, April 23rd, 6:30 pm
Alliance for Arts and Culture Boardroom
Suite 100 – 938 Howe St (between Smithe and Nelson)
How do you recognize a scam? What can you do to protect yourself from being ripped off? When should you sign a contract and what kinds of things should it include?
Recently, a group of artists were ripped off by a promoter from Texas who left town without paying for their involvement in the Art Box Show. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon. You will come away from this workshop with answers to the above questions and a better idea of how to
protect yourself as a visual artist.
CARFAC BC Members: $25
Non Members: $35
Reserve at: communications@carfac.ca or call 604-681-3535 ext 208.
You can also register the evening of the workshop, space permitting.
