B.C. film industry readies for 2010 Leos
B.C. actors, producers and directors should make the most of networking opportunities at the annual Leo Awards this week, according to the event’s associate producer.
The Leos honour the best in B.C. television and film production with 76 award categories that range from best feature length drama to best sound editing to best costume design.
“There are great networking opportunities at the Leos,” associate producer Drew Scott told Business in Vancouver.
He believes that the Leos are partly responsible for steady growth in B.C. film and TV production. Provincial government numbers show that production dollars spent in B.C. grew 39.5% to $1.32 billion between 2007 and 2009.
