Arrow Lakes Fine Arts Guild opens first show of the season
The Arrow Lakes Fine Arts (ALFA) Guild officially opened their first show of the summer featuring artist Boukje Elzinga and photographer Suzanne Schneider.
Elzinga’s gallery, entitled Structure, Reflections and Patterns of Water, features oil paintings on either canvas or wood.
Schneider’s photographs, entitled Diverging Reflections, features a diverse array of profile shots, trees, bodies, and areas in local spaces as well as around the world.
The canvas paintings feature scenes of water which show a clear reflection in different areas around the Kootenays during different seasons, an inspiration Elzinga got from the government changes to water use rights in British Columbia.
