BC Arts News is a collection of the latest news stories from British Columbia’s arts, creative and cultural sector. The BC Arts News blog acts as a news feed that features brief previews of stories with links to on-line articles, op-ed pieces and sometimes event or production information. It includes news from all genres and disciplines, professional and community based arts, funding and cultural infrastructure news, information about emerging artists, advocacy and arts awards, and many other searchable topics.
As a cultural worker, BC Arts News is my way of keeping informed about what is happening in the arts, creative and cultural sector in my province. I do not censor, curate or purposefully exclude news items as I feel it is important to reflect exactly what is being reported in the mainstream media.
Some of the links provided on BC Arts News expire quickly and I’m afraid I cannot guarantee they will always be active. If you want to read or save an article, I encourage you to visit the site right away to save a copy to your computer.
While I endeavour to feature as much arts news from around BC, there is an overwhelming amount of activity happening all over, which is great but very hard to keep on top of.
