About Sheryl McGraw

Todo Sucede Por Una Razon- Everything happens for a reason

Sheryl was lucky enough to be born and raised in one of Canada’s most famous creative communities, Stratford, Ontario (and no she doesn’t know Justin Bieber :-) ). She thinks it might have been the combination of seeing fantastic theatre on a regular basis, being an avid reader coupled with her parent’s love of all things music (as well as a few encouraging teachers), that inspired her to pursue a career in the arts and cultural sector.

In the early 1990′s Sheryl visited and fell in love with Canada’s West Coast and decided to make it her home. Her first job was in PR at Grace Hospital, but it didn’t take long before she joined Vancouver’s arts community as an administrator and event planner. Subsequently, she also met the love of her life in Vancouver despite that she lived only kilometers away in Ontario, so she knew it was where she was meant to be.

Throughout her career she been fortunate enough to work for organizations including the BC Touring Council, Axis Theatre/Vancouver International Comedy Festival, the Assembly of BC Arts Council, The Cultch, Creative City Network of Canada (and Centre for Expertise on Culture and Communities at Simon Fraser University), and currently at 2010 Legacies Now as the Manager of Arts Sector Engagement and the Creative Communities Program.

Sheryl currently lives happily in “the Heights” (Burnaby) with her husband of eight years and their two furry, four-legged friends.
